The American Interest isn’t generally our thing – we’re hardly policy wonks at the Book Haven – but I was intrigued when Rachel Hostyk, the associate editor for the journal, wrote a thoughtful review of the Constellation Theatre Company‘s recent production of Thornton’ Wilder ‘s The Skin of Our Teeth. Imaginatively directed by Arin Arbus, Thornton Wilder’s The Skin of Our Teeth is a wildly original, ambitious tragicomedy currently playing at Theatre for a New Audience at the Polonsky Shakespeare Center. The Antrobus family lives in suburban New Jersey. The truth of the matter is that, instead of being partially borrowed from Mr. Joyce's work, "The Skin of Our Teeth" was actually taken almost in toto from an early novel of my own, called "Nabisco Author: Wolcott Gibbs.
